A standard approach to increase thermal and acoustic insulation of premises is to replace all existing windows with new double glazed frames. This replacement process is quite expensive in terms of time and money and is significantly disruptive to normal business.
Our company is proud to present a more viable alternative that allows our customers to achieve higher levels of energy efficiency with only a small investment.
Windows are a major source of unwanted heat gain in summer and significant heat loss in winter. Energy efficient windows make your building more comfortable, significantly reducing your energy costs and helping to create a brighter, cleaner and healthier environment.
Windows can severely impact on the heating and cooling loads of a building. Up to 40% of a home’s heating energy can be lost and up to 87% of its heat gained through windows.
Improved windows’ thermal performance reduces energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Instead of replacing the whole window our technology allows for the installation of a highly energy efficient panel on top of the existing window. This extra panel is a double glazed acrylic window that uses a highly energy-efficient adhesive at attach to your existing window frame. The panel is completely transparent while delivering excellent results in the reduction of excessive heating of the premises during summer and in the retention of heating energy during winter.
The use of acrylic glazing panels provides many great benefits. While delivering a clear optical grade, they are up to six times more thermally efficient than glass. Moreover, our panels show great results in the reflection of sun radiation which is extremely important where your windows have direct sun exposure.
The air cavities between windows acts as an insulation barrier against noise and temperature. This thermal barrier between the windows panels holds in the heat during cold weather and holds in the cold during hot weather. Our system allows to obtain an extra cavity compare to traditional double glazing. So it acts just like triple glazing. Depending on the configuration of the existing window, our unique, customisable installation system allows us to adjust the size of the air cavity to maximise both thermal and acoustic insulation.
The construction is light, securely attached and can be removed if needed. It’s easy to operate and maintain and is available in a variety of styles, with different glass options and colors.
There is an option to install a spacer bar to prevent condensation between windows. We recommend that existing windows be covered with a special window film that affords high visible light transmission and high infrared rejection to protect you from sun radiation.
In 2015 independent thermal imaging investigation of our panels was conducted. The purpose of this work was to establish thermal effectiveness of the double-glazed panels installed into originally single glazed windows frames.
Testing revealed dramatic improvements in heat resisting characteristics as a result of the installation of our products. The average temperature of the window surface inside the office with our system installed was shown to around ten degrees lower than the one in a similar office with single glazing.
As part of this research the thermal imaging scans were taken from the inside window surface of the panel using high resolution thermal imaging equipment. It should be noted that on that day temperature of outside windows reached 55.3 Co.
